My Teaching Philosophy
I strongly believe that teaching is one of the most arduous professions; yet it is one of the most rewarding professions. Being responsible for shaping young minds who will grow up to be future leaders in different professional fields can be overwhelming, but if children are properly guided and regularly motivated with positive reinforcement, they are capable of learning. In all my years of teaching, I always strive to be a facilitator of knowledge, mentor for cognitive growth, and an instructor of good habits and skills; rather than a traditional transmitter of information.
I always try to provide as much time and attention as possible in regards to their education. I also create a classroom atmosphere that gives a sense of comfort and is a safe learning environment for all. Whether it is physically, emotionally, psychologically, or socially, I want my students to feel safe. Besides my students, parents, other teachers, administrators, staffs, and other people in the community, see me as someone they can approach, who is just and unbiased.
As a teacher, one of my hopes is to instill a love of learning within my students. In such a competitive and globalized society, it is imperative for students to not only receive quality education, but to work with someone who is aware of and considerate of their individual needs. I am such a person who always tries to foster curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, self-discovery, problem-solving skills, facilitate the acquisition of life-long learning skills, and prepare students to function effectively in the society with cultural sensitivity, mutual respect, and civic accountability.
Teaching has provided an opportunity for me to continuously grow and learn. I have been providing private tuitions from a very young age. It was during that time when I realized how much I enjoyed sharing my knowledge, after which I had begun to teach professionally. I facilitated my passion for learning through my experiences of teaching. Teaching is not just a profession for me, it is my passion. Above and beyond, I believe that it is a lifestyle.
